![]() ![]() In 1898, even m/87 was delivered to enlisted men also, which meant that large amounts of weapons had to be purchased. Non-commissioned officers used their service weapons at no cost. Officers had to buy their weapons for a sum of 38 Swedish Krona from the Crown or through MEA (Military Equipment Ltd.). Revolver m/87 was initially intended only for officers and non-commissioned officers. These were used by the Swedish military for a time, as well as issued to certain personnel deemed to need arms like those guarding state infrastructure: railways, telegraph, etc. ![]() Unlike the crude construction of the 1895, this 1887 is very high quality, showing in the smoothness of action and the meticulous numbering of virtually every part. This revolver’s design comes from Leon & Emile Nagant, two brothers who would go down in history for the Russian Model 1895, also known simply as the “Nagant”.
